Summary: The subject of deconfined art has touched me a lot. It came simultaneously with a personal experience, a story that has begun even before the confinement. I had to say that all my achievements are the fruits of personal experiences, at times able to be shared in public and at others not able to be shared. Before the confinement i was eager to work on sexism, the discrimininatory attitude that I have faced during my career, and on the difficulties that feminist female artists face in their projects. Some people unfortunately hate / reject women that have a revolutionary spirit. The confinement time was very important in my life as an artist, it is even crucial for me.
Actually i have detached from this world to create my small universe and my confidential bubble, and especially to make decisions. My decision was to retrace my path, to self-assess, to revise certain choices, certain objectives, to review my ambitions and even the values that i have long carried and that have become nowadays constraining defects (such as spontaneity, honesty, and sincerity…) In brief, it was then that i started this work; painting on silk. The material is therefore silk, the choice of an artist that aims to achieve an artistic intention. In fact, to achieve my objective, I opted for a very soft fragile material, and even so delicate. My choice of silk is due to the sensitive time of confinement that the entire world was compelled to live. At the level of composition, the work on silk represents many possible ways concerning life; such as work / my personal life / health and they sometimes overlap. Concerning work, my will to embark on the world of programming is like a challenge for success. At the level of personal life, I have appreciated a lot the people who have been present during the difficult moments, and then as well i have eliminated the ones who have been passive / indifferent with me. In terms of health, this work was a therapy considering that before the confinement i was hospitalized for around ten days due to an anguish because of certain aggressive reactions towards me.
In this artwork, buttons are revealing, (here i am using a play on words ; button / bachelor’s button), it is before that they bloom, they affect me such as the moments of reflexion and contemplation that i do from time to time to review matters. In my case, it is easier to paste these buttons. However, i wanted to fix them one by one in order to give them a value thanks to a manual technique, that of weaving. I focus on the word "weaving", the technique that aims to weave / regenerate contacts and promote connectivity with certain people. Finally if i do a chromatic analysis for my work, i would say that the choice of cheerful, lively colors, full of vitality, contrasts with the black traces and shows a gap between dream and reality. So to sum up, the confinement period was very interesting for me.It was a rest, in my life as an artist, that allowed me to see things better, to orient myself towards other objectives,
to see / re-examine the world from another angle. In short it is about bringing back order to my life. This period of segregation gave me strength, a push forwards to overcome all the difficulties and therefore to be optimistic.
